Policies

 

Refund Policy
Please read carefully: The deadline for withdrawal is July 01.
All refunds, including refunds on the deposit, are subject to a $50.00 administrative charge.
Absolutely no cash refunds will be given after July 01.
After July 01, students who withdraw for documented medical reasons will receive a partial credit towards next years program.

 

General Policies

REGISTRATIONS are accepted in person, by mail, by fax or on-line. All registrations are accepted on first come, first serve basis and are only confirmed once all forms are completed and payment is made.

CANCELLATION POLICIES: Dance Nova Scotia may cancel programs at its discretion due to minimum participation requirements or unforeseen circumstances. In the event that a program is cancelled a full refund of all fees paid will be issued.

TEACHER SUBSTITUTION: All teachers have been hired at the time of this publication, however DANS reserves the right to provide a replacement if due to unforseen circumstances, the teacher in unable to fulfill the contract.

THEFT Dance Nova Scotia and the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts cannot be held responsible for the loss, theft or damage of belongings. Please plan to leave valuables at home.

VISITORS: All visitors including parents must check in with the Camp Director upon arrival before entering any studio, cabin or recreation area. If visiting, parents are asked to respect the instructors’ need for focus during activities. Visitors other than the students parents or legal guardians must have written permission of the students parent’s or legal guardians.

BUS POLICIES: The bus cannot wait for late campers in the morning and cannot stop at an unscheduled place to pick up or drop off campers. If any camper is continually disruptive or otherwise endangers the safety of other campers and bus driver, or if the parents are continually late dropping off or picking up a camper, the service may be withdrawn for that camper. In such a case there will be no refund for remaining bus fees. If change is required in bussing details the Camp Director must be notified at least 24 hours in advance.

PHOTO/VIDEO: Dance Nova Scotia and the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts reserve the right to use photographs/video material of the camps and the campers and produced artwork for promotional purposes such as Facebook, web site, brochure, media releases and displays.

Day Student Policies

In order to get the most from DANS Summer Dance it is best to stay in residence. However we understand that this is not an option for everyone. The next best thing is to insure that the day students are well integrated into camp activities, so that they have the same opportunities to learn, to get to know the teachers and to make new friends among fellow campers. To this end we require the following:

1. Students must arrive 15 minutes before the first class and be prepared to stay until 9:00pm to participate in all classes, evening workshops and recreational activities.
2. Students who arrive late, may be required to sit out of their first class. Persistent lateness will lead to expulsion without refund.
3. Day students are required to participate in the meal plan. Lunches, suppers and snacks will be provided.
Day students will be assigned a bin for their personal belongings.
4. The Ross creek Centre bus service may be available if there are enough students who request it. The service is $10.00/day(with a minimum of 5. Payment for the bus service must be made with the second installment. If you would like to find out more about the bus service please check the box on the front of the registration form.
5. We will accept a maximum of 6 day students.
